Another New Year's Eve at home with the fam.

I can't remember the last time Hubs and I went out for New Year's Eve. I'm guessing it was before we got married and that takes us all the way back to 2003.

I'm not a big fan of packed bars, clubs, or houses full of people getting obnoxiously intoxicated. No matter how much people try to avoid it, there is always that someone that can't handle their alcohol and acts like an idiot. Even more so, I'm not a fan of being on the roads New Year's Eve. Way too many people out there drinking and driving. I'm scared to be out there with them. So scared, I haven't ventured out on New Year's Eve in 10+ years.

This year, I also have a little one that breastfeeds every 2 hours. Not exactly a lot of time in between feedings. We couldn't even work in a quick dinner if we wanted to.

I'm pretty paranoid about being out and about on NYE and, like most years, the safety of my own home is where I chose to be last night.

I made some snacky foods. We munched on stuffed mushrooms, taco dip, and ice cream sundae's. The kids and I also dyed pasta and made necklaces, bracelets, and for Turner we decorated wrist bands. We even made a bracelet for Hubs!

The jewelry turned out beautifully!

We skipped the sauerkraut and pork today since we typically have it for dinner once a month. Hubs is a big fan.

Today, the kids and I made Monster cookies. Baking with them is always messy and always chaotic, but they seem to enjoy it and I don't mind as long as they are having fun. Plus, Monster cookies are my all-time favorite so I would have tolerated pretty much anything in order to have them.

And tonight at dinner we wore our pasta jewelry; Tanner even wore his bracelet.

I hope all of you had a safe and fun New Year's Eve and enjoyed your New Year's Day!
