Sesame Street Live!

Instead of taking a family vacation this year, we decided that we would take the kids on a special outing every month.

This month, we took the kids to see Sesame Street Live - Elmo's Super Hero's.

It seems that most of the events/outings that we attend are heavily influenced by what Turner enjoys. This time, we had Lauren's interest in mind. We decided to take her to see her favorite pal, Elmo.

When we asked Turner if he wanted to attend the show, he wasn't too thrilled that it was Elmo; however, he thought the Super Hero part would be kind of cool.

So, we purchased tickets and we had a wonderful time!

The show took place at the Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield. I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it is inside. It's an old restored theater that is painted and decorated with most of the same colors and items that were there originally in 1928. It was originally a movie palace theater, so there really isn't a bad seat in the house.

When we arrived, the kids picked out souvenir's and snacks from the snack bar. Then, we found our seats and the fun began. Sesame Street Live was a very interactive show. I loved how they encouraged crowd participation and constantly invited the kids to stand up and dance. It kept the kids attention while allowing them to get out of their seats and burn some energy. Just what Turner and Lauren needed!!

*If you decide to watch the video, I must apologize in advance. I have the worst Mom-voice ever!

My Crazy Kids

I take over 100 pictures of my family per month.

I know.

I have a problem.

It's my way of freezing time with the ones I love the most.

When I'm older, I'm sure I will be glad I did.

Here are some of my favorite pics I took this month.

Brushing his teeth in true Turner fashion.
Having fun in Lauren's room.

This is how Lauren dressed for our walk.

Tyler is lookin' good for her stroller ride.

Turner wanted to get a picture with Tyler. She wasn't too thrilled about it.

Getting ready to take a ride on the RZR.

Just being silly.

One of Tyler's many looks. She is very animated, just like her siblings.

Our trip to Rolling Ridge Ranch

Every year, we take the kiddo's on a trip to Rolling Ridge Ranch. They always have a blast and there is so much for them to do. Here are a few pics from our trip there a couple of weekends ago.

The kiddo's on the wagon ride.

Lauren got a thrill out of how close the animals were to her!
Ryan was a bit intimidated by the large animals, but he loved the deer.

Staring contest.

The petting area is always Lauren's favorite.

This goat walked up to the girls and sat so they could pet it. Very cool.

Had to bust out the blanket on the hilltop. It was a bit windy and cold.

Lauren fell asleep almost immediately on the way home. What a fun day!

Our Backyard

My greatest childhood memories are from moments shared in our backyard.

I love that my children sit under the same trees, run the same paths, and explore nature in the same places I did.

Our backyard is a place where I will be forever young.

I hope when our children visit our home as adults, they will be flooded with wonderful memories of a time when they were secure and carefree.

He loves to climb!

Salt dough handprints

I found this simple recipe and instructions on how to do salt dough handprints here.

Our handprints turned out perfect!

So what did the kids do when I had them decorate them?

They painted and glittered and dazzled until they pretty much rendered the handprint unrecognizable.

Oh well, they had fun and that's what it's all about anyhow.

Our latest investment - Lake property!!

Sometimes opportunities present themselves at the most unlikely times.

Tanner and I are so busy with our daily responsibilities, our budgeting, our planning, and our children. We don't have much time to dream these days, but we are always focused on our future.

One thing Hubs and I have in common is our natural instinct to think ahead. Whether it's packing a diaper bag or planning a room renovation, we're always thinking 'big picture.'

Last month, Tanner found an AMAZING deal on a couple of lots at a private lake. Even though we had never planned to buy lake property, we discussed it and quickly decided it was something we wanted to invest in.

We purchased the lots and took the kids to visit the lake. It was so much fun and the view from our property is breathtaking. We love it so much, we now plan to build our retirement home there.

Tanner and I are looking forward to making years of memories with our family and friends at Lake Buckhorn.

Can you tell that the kids are a little excited?

Exploring the property. He held her hand so she wouldn't fall.

They loved this tree! It's really wide with low arched branches.

They even found deer poop!!
